Maxcel^® OCTO, Octocrylene

Maxcel^® OCTO (Octocrylene) is an ingredient applied in sunscreens and cosmetics. It is an ester formed by condensation of Diphenylcyanoacrylate with 2-Ethylhexanol. It is a clear, viscous, oily liquid. The extended conjugation of acrylate portion of the molecule absorbs UVB and UVA rays with wavelengths from 280 to 320 nm, protecting your skin from the sun.
